20 Ways To Let People Know About Your Campaign

What you do to promote your social campaign on your social media channels dictates how successful it will be. The old adage “If you build it, they will come”, no longer holds true for campaigns. There are many ways to promote a campaign that are low or no cost. Two examples that would be free are your existing social media channels and website.

We’ve created a 20-tip list to help you remember some of the most common ways to promote your Campaign. Let’s get started.

Your Design Should Be Sharable

When you’re creating your graphics for your social campaign, design it with sharing in mind. If people aren’t able to share it, the potential virality is greatly decreased. Here are a few ideas for sharing and engagement of your Campaign:

  • Share widget – Lets your users share your Campaign on their various social media channels platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
  • Voting widget – Display entries submitted via a promotion widget and let your Campaign’s visitors vote, share and comment on each entry.
  • Friend invite – Let your Campaign’s visitors invite their friends to your Campaign.
  • Action widget – Create “if this, then that” integrations between your widgets. You can make use of share prompts and/or popups at this point.
  • Points per field widget – Use a points per field type widget to incentivize people to fill out extra fields of a promotion form by awarding them more chances to win.

Add Elements To Your Website or Blog

If you already have a website or blog, hopefully you’re getting a good amount of traffic. Your website/blog is a great avenue for promoting your Campaign. You can implement the below ideas to help drive traffic to your Campaign’s central location:

  • Add call-to-action images in the footer of your blog posts.
  • Use popup notifications.
  • Use a notification header bar on your website. The Hello Bar is a pretty good one.
  • Use a graphical announcement on the landing page of your website and/or blog.
  • Display ads in the sidebar of your website.

Social Media Platforms Updates

In addition to posting about your Campaign and your regular status updates, you can also bring more awareness to your Campaign by:

  • Add your Campaign to your Twitter business account by updating your bio to include a link to your Campaign’s central location.
  • Update your Facebook page cover and/or profile photo to include info about your Campaign.
  • Update your company’s Instagram bio to include a link to your Campaign’s central location.
  • Update your company’s Twitter cover to include info about your Campaign.
  • Don’t forget to include a shortened link (bit ly) at the end of your video to your Campaign’s central location.

Do Email Marketing

Did you know that email conversion rates are nearly three times higher than social media? And it has a 17% higher value in conversion. If you currently use email marketing, then you already know well your subscribers respond to your emails. If you don’t currently use email marketing, studies show that about 90% of consumers prefer email as their method to receive updates from companies. The below are a few ideas for email marketing to use to let your subscribers and/or customers know about your Campaign:

  • Set up auto-responder emails so when a person shares with you their email address via your Campaign, they are sent a special message to their inbox.
  • Send an email blast to your subscribers notifying them about your Campaign.
  • Include information about your Campaign in the header or footer of your newsletter.

Paid Advertisement

If you have the budget, paid advertisement is a great way to promote your Campaign. In addition to the traditional paid advertisements such as print ads, television, radio, etc., here are two popular ways to promote via paid advertisement online:

  • Facebook advertisements
  • Goggle Adwords
